


HKCIA Hosts Executive Seminar on Gen AI

Generative Al is at the forefront of a new era of technological advances, but how can insurers harness the power of innovative technologies to create real value?
On 24 June, the HKCIA co-hosted an executive seminar with Deloitte, bringing together nearly 60 executives and professionals from more than 30 Chinese insurers, brokers and captive insurers in Hong Kong.
Mr. Liu Shihong, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the Association, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. He noted that the association will regularly host various seminars and events in the future to build a communication platform, strengthen communication among members, as well as with industry peers, government departments, and regulatory bodies, to jointly promote the healthy development of the Hong Kong insurance industry and contribute to the development of Hong Kong as an international financial center.
Edward Au, Deloitte China Southern Region managing partner, also delivered a welcome speech. Deloitte China insurance leader Joanna Wong shared the key insights from FSl Predictions 2024, which examines emerging trends that will drive transformation across financial services over the next 3-5 years.
In the thought leadership sharing session, Kelly Zhou, Deloitte China Insurance partner, illustrated trending Gen Al use cases in the global insurance sector, including new business and underwriting, claims, and fraud prevention in medical claims.
Jennifer Xu, Deloitte China lead partner of Chinese Services in Hong Kong, said in her closing remarks. "We look forward to more collaboration with the Association, supporting the growth agenda of Chinese insurers in Hong Kong and helping them stay ahead in the fast-changing business environment.
